Has anyone heard from MIT BCS?

I am very sorry to inform you that we are unable to admit you into our graduate program for 2020. We have received many excellent applications from outstanding students such as yourself. Unfortunately, we have limited openings and the number of applications exceeds these openings quite significantly. Undoubtedly you have other opportunities to continue your education. 2 papers, tons of research experience. Had contacted 2 professors before. No interview.

Ah, well. Have other options, so will take one of them.

I would like to give you an update regarding your application to our graduate program. Our Committee on Graduate Admissions has placed your application (along with about fifty others) on a "Wait List" in the event an opening becomes available. I am sorry that it is not possible to predict the Committee's final action; however, in the past several years, we were only able to offer admission to a few students who were on the "Wait List". Therefore, I suggest that you continue to develop alternative plans for continuing your graduate education. Unfortunately, we are only able to admit a limited number of applicants.

A little bit disappointed, but a good mood is more important!

The decision was hard to accept, since I know my profile is strong. I have appealed, quoting multiple recent achievements but that hardly helps. Fingers Crossed.

I received an interview invite over email on the 31st, interviewed last week. I believe it went alright, but it is a very selective program so who knows? Happy to have made it this far.
