Was on waitlist. Email from POI stating that no more students in my subfield will be admitted.

Has anyone been rejected yet? It seems like a longer gap than in the past between early admission (presumably PIs with funding) and rejection letters.

Hi folks, Has anybody received an informal notification? Could it be the case that people who are admitted are notified by mail firstly and then receive the official letter for the department while unsuccessful applicants only receive a formal rejection letter later, or are all decisions posted at once?

Confirming that the acceptances to MIT for DUSP Masters are not trolls. At least I am not. I got a call from a faculty member from the concentration within the dept to which I indicated interest in my application. I first got a call on 2-28 but missed it. The faculty called back on 3-1.

Waitlisted 2017, Accepted 2018. No interview.

Pleasantly surprised by this! Cumulative total of 1 year of research over 4 different research projects. 1 N author paper and 1 1st author paper in preparation. This is for astro.

Have been very upset already when I knew I was not invited to the interview, so pretty calm when I read this update from the application website. MIT is hard anyway. Formal rejection letter will be sent out by March 9.
