East Asian Studies, Yale University Just as a note for future applicants: I was originally accepted with no funding, but ultimately received the 20k fellowship (notification day is the day I received the upgraded offer). All students accepted to the program are put on a waiting list for funding, and if someone turns down their offer, they give it to the next person on the list.

Asian Studies, University Of British Columbia TTPB: Uhm, they conducted interviews? And just to clarify, what did you mean with "just apply it"? You mean, to just accept they misled applicants by making it appear that there is an application process, but in reality, there is no funding for new PhDs at all?

Asian Studies, University Of British Columbia ATTENTION to the future applicants! The earliest deadline while the latest notification. After interviews and emails, it surprisingly ended up with NOT accepting any applicants in Mid MARCH(Wow!). If you are rich enough, JUST apply it as they will keep your Application Fee without apologies. A good lesson of low efficiency and bureaucracy of institutions, though.
