I have a Master's with a cgpa 3.98. Physics GRE 990/990 with 95% percentile, and GRE 322/340. I have two research papers in theoretical high-energy physics. However, I want to work in theoretical condensed matter physics. UT Austin told me they don't have a position for theoretical CMP and offered for the experimental. So I am gonna turn down this offer. I got a total of 8 admissions, UT Austin, U of Florida, Rice U, Colorado Boulder, TAMU, UTK, NCSU, and U of Alabama. Only TAMU, UTK, and U of Alabama offered me theoretical condensed matter physics. Finally, I decided to go with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Happy to have a position in my desired field. |
