Graduate School Admission Results

A professor offered to meet me on zoom a few days ago. I accepted it and never got his reply. Instead, this morning I woke up and was informed that I was admitted. No one ever mentioned the meeting anymore. I'm happy with the result but still find it a confusing experience... ps. It was a long, detailed and sincere admission letter. Really appreciate that.

I have my Master's degree from this institution and was encouraged to apply by DGS. Notified to check status of application via online portal. No GRE submission. 0a/0r/1w

Reason: Very few spots available for 275 applicants.

Got sent a personal email interview invite, addressed by name from the BNS program director.

“Applications that are turned away during our first round of review are due to a host of factors including insufficient research experience, career aspirations that do not align with our training, selection of mentors who are not taking students, or unclear academic preparation in psychology … We recognize this is not the decision you wanted to hear and wish you the best of luck in pursuing your graduate education.”

Studied Social Work as an undergraduate and Counseling as a graduate student. More than 8 years of as a certified social worker and certified counselor in the psychiatric department, and also volunteered in the NGOs for LGBTOIA+ and people living with HIV/AIDS for almost 10 years.

Applied October last week. Got admit email on Jan 10th but I checked my mail on Jan 11th.
