Computer Science -- Machine Learning, University Of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) Could use some help, got an email last week from UCLA- Comp. Sci. Depart. saying they want me to pursue a Ph.D. instead of a Masters? Can they do this to me? Does this mean that I am at least accepted for an MS, and should I ask about funding if I am going to do a Ph.D? My goal was just an MS, now should I do a Ph.D, can someone give me some advice? Should I cancel my applications to Georgia Tech, Berkeley, UIUC and Mich. Thanks, please respond to my posted

Computer Science, University Of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) why would you cancel your other applications? If you are interested, just say yes and let them send an official offer to you. It doesnot make any sense to cancel any application without receiving official admission letter with funding info on it. In any case, you have time till 15 April to inform the schools about your final decision. Good luck!
