4a/1r/1p; not surprised at all, definitely rushed this application. likely going to withdraw from the waitlist soon!

admitted with ~30k/year. No GRE. 3.86 GPA. 2.5 years work experience.

3.61 GPA from in state public university, one relevant international internship and full time financial services experience. No GRE submitted. Aid notification to come.

Formal offer letter and financial package! such a great stipend! $$$

40% tuition merit aid.

I knew it would be tricky with GPA and limit work experience that's not really relevant I think it was the combo that's killed my chances great GRE scores couldn't save me

Admitted w/ $$. 4 years international development experience. 2 years working abroad, 2 years doing research at a top-10 university. Strong LoRs, strong SOP.

2 years work experience; no GRE; merit aid

The head of the Applied Linguistics sent an email. No change in the application portal.

Email to check portal. I will decline as I have a fully funded PhD offer and only applied to MA programs as backup. Hope this helps someone on the waitlist!

Six years of experience in the IC, Navy veteran, strong SOP and writing sample. Had fairly good LOR. Fingers crossed I get in off the waitlist! Congrats to everyone that got accepted.

3.75/4.0 GPA at a non-prestigious undergrad, although I think I believe them when they say they don't take prestige of undergrad institution into consideration. I think they just want to see how you did wherever you studied. Had a weak period of academic performance in undergrad that I explained in the app. Stellar SOP in my opinion because of a unique personal background that relates to security studies and was powerfully captured in the SOP. Studied for the GRE for months and it was canceled the night before the test :( ETS dodged my calls and failed to reschedule me before the app deadline, so I had to write the writing sample. It turned out to be... above average, I think. Showed a strong command of language but a pretty mediocre argument. 1 strong LOR, 2 mediocre ones (I think, can't be sure). 3 years of private sector work experience that is quasi-related to security. I had also taken some advanced classes in data science that may have been helpful. Lastly, weak-to-average command of a few foreign languages and 2 semesters of study abroad.

Accepted with Merit Award. No GRE. Industry Experience. Strong LORs and SOP.

I have not been waitlisted but I have not heard anything from the Socio PhD. Has anyone else?
