Physics, University Of Maryland, College Park We have finished making offers of admission for the Fall 2008 semester. I am sorry to tell you that, despite your good credentials, you were not selected for an offer. We received 652 applications so that there were many difficult decisions to make. We were also trying for a smaller entering class than in recent years.

English Literature, University Of Maryland, College Park I went to testudo.umd.edu and discovered my acceptance on 3/12. Today, I received official, postal notice of that acceptance. Still no word on potential funding, though...time to e-mail!

English, University Of Maryland, College Park I got an email that urges me to submit financial documentation to further assess (?) my application. The official application website indicates my application pending while the department website saying that a decision has been made. Well? What are they doing there?

English, University Of Maryland, College Park To the person who asks about the departmental website. It is the one to which you log on with the ID given to you by the department when you were first asked to upload the supporting departmental materials after finishing off the official website stuffs. There is also an application status check menu there. But I don't think that the menu will actually reveal your status. Rather, it is highly probable that you might also find that you will receive your decision letter in two or three weeks since a decision has been rendered. Well, good luck anyway.
