Graduate School Admission Results

Got an email to check portal. This was my high reach so I'm not disappointed. Good luck to other candidates :)

Email to check portal. Really bummed since a professor convinced me to apply over the course of a conference last summer to work with her.

I received an email about a status update and to check my portal. The rejection message was within the portal. "Thank you for applying for graduate study at the University of California, Berkeley. After a holistic and comprehensive review of all your application materials, we regret to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission at this time. The UC Berkeley campus has a strict enrollment ceiling, and we are thus very limited in the number of new students we may admit each year. The admissions committee in the program you applied to had the difficult task of selecting students with the strongest overall records from a large pool of well-qualified applicants. Unfortunately, this may result in not being able to accept many applicants who are capable or have the potential of excellent academic work. We are sorry we do not have a place for you in this year's class."

UG GPA 3.4 cumulative, 3.85 History, 3.85 Masters

Accepted to the Hispanic Languages and Literatures PhD via email. I am doing track 3 in Hispanic Linguistics. My interview was on January 31 and my acceptance was February 6.

GPA is grad. Phone call acceptance with formal details to follow later.
