To the poster[s] below, regarding funding - New York state is broke. The town of Brookhaven is soon to be broke. The plans to restore the fiscal situation are stated publicly as " ... cutting spending on schools and hospitals". Granted, thats a NYS statement, not Brookhaven town, but I suspect Stony Brook's budget doesnt consist much of funds out of Brookhaven - the single most corrupt township in NY. Without speaking lowly of Stony Brook (its in my backyard, spectacular science programs ... can you say John Milnor?), Id love to know exactly what their budget is, what it was 4 years ago, and what they project it to be in 4 years.
