Geography, York University I am an American who was admitted to York University ( Canadian school). Quite surprised since I was told how they only took one international student a year. I received an email from the chair. A few hours later I received an automated message from the admission's system.

Clinical Psychology, York University Rejection post-interview. Very kind email from POI explaining that offer of admission has been accepted by another applicant. Was put on waitlist but unlikely that offers will be extended by other faculty members so....

Physics, New York University ( NYU) On behalf of the Department of Physics, I am writing to inform you on the status of your application for admission to New York University's Graduate School of Arts and Science. It is the policy of the Graduate School to offer admission to outstanding doctoral students only if they are fully funded. Such funding comes from the Graduate School's MacCracken Fellowship Program, offered to a limited number of prospective students selected by the department. The department regards you as an outstanding potential candidate for admission and we have placed you on our wait list for admission. However, since we have only a limited number of full-funding offers that we may make, we are not yet able to make a final decision on your application. We hope to get a better sense of the resources available to us, and thus be able to determine whether we might be able to offer you admission with funding, by April 15.
