TTPB about LIFO way of UCSD: I totally agree with you and it is just so annoying and frustrating. I wish we could do something about this.

No funding information, received the email around 12am PST

Why is it that SanDiego provides results for those who applied in Dec especially close to deadline first and not to those who applied in say October or November. Are they using LIFO (Stack) method to scan? Is that not utter stupidity and especially when they call it rolling admission? Is that the American way? I have collected results from friends in CS and ECE who applied in Dec some just on the deadline date of Dec 15 who have got admits while those who applied in Oct or Nov are yet to hear. Anyone can help?

A bit surprised as this is supposed to be my safety school. Did not submit GRE. Received an reminder email to check the portal and the rejection was there. 2a/2r/1w/7p.

Seems like those rejection emails are pouring out in order of applicant; mine appeared a little after midnight.

Sent email to check updated status on application. Wasn't a going to be a good fit for me anyways, not much diversity. but hey at least I applied.

Got the email at 12:33 am. They were one of my safety/reasonable programs. But I got into UW and would've chosen UW over UCSD so it works out. I also didn't send in GRE scores because they weren't the best.

Emailed me about the update, and asked me to check the application portal, regret to inform...

Letter saying I was accepted!

Also offered "an additional one-time $1500 award intended to assist [my] transition to graduate school. This can be used for relocation costs or academic costs such as the purchase of a computer." Excited about this!

Following up on the UCSD CS interview posts: I looked at the interview updates of UCSD CS on this site this year and 2/3 of the posts mentions a coding assignment. I am assuming it's all from the same lab as coding assignments for PhDs are very rare. Is it because this POI interviewed way too many applicants, or many other POIs in UCSD CS actually don't do interviews?
