Graduate School Admission Results

Have any received rejection from the CS Dept University of Wisconsin Madison? I have not heard anything yet, so must likely got an rejection!

So sorry to all those rejected :( I applied to both History and History of Science and have not heard from either yet. Is that a good or a bad sign?

Dream School, Can't believe I got in, I am literally crying. No pubs, Math undergrad from Top 100 campus in US. I literally had 0 hope. I guess my prayer worked.

This year GRE scores were optional, so those who didnt submit gre scores have any disadvantage?

TTPB: last year I got rejection on 6th feb. So it is not entirely true that, they will send rejection at the end.

TTPB who got rejected: It seems odd getting a rejection at this point. Most of the programs send rejections after all the acceptances have been sent. So I would expect rejections in early/mid-March.

TTPB, it seems strange given the profile. However, I suppose admission depends on multiple factors - is it a top 5/7 IIT or the newer ones, was your branch CS, are the publications at good places and/or first-authored, were GRE scores high... If all of these factors are in your favor then I suppose you would anyways get an admit at a "better" place.

Are they taking Indians? I got rejected coming from a top IIT with a 9.8 GPA with 3 papers. Wth?

Got inofficial offer from POI, says the formal offer will take some more time, but they already know the results.

Email from advisor saying that I was recommended for acceptance by doctoral committee. Same funding package as others in thread.

I have no idea if admissions are rolling or not. It seems like they gave out acceptances on both the 2nd and the 3rd, though, so it doesn't look like they're supposed to all come out at the same time.

Is UW Madison doing rolling admissions or do they usually all come out at once?
