Interviewing for Biomech - I reached out to the PI personally after getting an interview for HST's MEMP program

Got four rounds of interview, the earliest one from PoI in middle of January, then finished three others before Feb with various students and staff in the team. Was an excitement, but turned into a disappointment (within expectation though!) Hope you guys all the best.

Got an official rejection. Heart broken but expected. To those who got in, I hope you really make the most out of the opportunity you've gotten.

I have never seen a people who applied(or interviewed) for Affective Computing, I've never contacted by them. No news. I was just hopeful since I've never seen Affective Computing candidate, now you take all my chance since I'm applying with 2.7 GPA :) . I applied for only Masters btw.

I am the Woohoo-er. I was waitlisted first and then got accepted to ResEnv after an interview.

Interview with Prof. Jacobson (Molecular Machines PI) and Makysm (Grad student) + 1 Paper Review. I Had a one-on-one meeting with Maksym and a group "conversation" with Pranam at the Open House before the interview.

Emailed the PI with a recently accepted paper. Email conversation led to a scheduled phone conversation. PM the OP of the "MIT Media Lab 2017" thread under Engineering if you want more details.

To the poster below who has been interviewed by the social machines lab: Have you talked with Deb Roy? Do you know how many students they are accepting?

Thanks for the answer :) I had my interview with a student of the lab on Jan and have not heard back. Does anyone knows that all the POI interview with applicants or by him/her self???

No interview.

We received more than 1200 applications and were able to admit less than 6%. In selecting so few from a large and talented group, we must turn down many qualified applicants. I think this year was so competetive past years they have only 700 to 800 applicant only Good lick everyone

No portfolio visits since last week. I hope they are making the interview list.

Honestly, it wasn't the greatest research fit. I would have felt compelled to go there because of the name - now I get to go to the perfect school for me :D

Social Machines - 2 interviews over Skype, one with POI and one with students. Strong app & LORs, but admittedly weak/nervous during the student interview. Kind of anticipated this, but still a bummer. Good luck to the others.
