8r/0a/1w/1p, McNair Scholar. No interview, checked the portal which lead to a short message: "Thank you for your interest in the Sociology PhD program at the University of Virginia. We have carefully reviewed your application, and I am genuinely sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you admission for the Fall 2025 term. Graduate education at our institution emphasizes small class sizes and individualized mentorship from faculty, which limits the number of available seats in our programs. I received an email to set up an account with Princeton. About 10 minutes later, I received an email to check my portal, which had the acceptance letter. The letter instructed me to use my Princeton account to check the funding offer on a different site. I didn't expect an acceptance and was totally blown away. What a cool way to end my application cycle.

Admitted into the masters program after being rejected from the PhD program. Got offers into other PhD programs so unlikely to accept the masters at UChicago.

Soci undergrad, gpa is 2nd masters in field, went to NYU for first masters, its been a rough cycle (i know for everyone with government funding purges), but I am so thankful to have gotten an offer from my top choice. charge on, stay strong, we have work to do. 1a/11/r/0w/0p

End of cycle. 1a/1w/manyr Super grateful to have 1 offer, though not from a top choice program. Wish the uncertainties seemed short lived but I’m starting to things will only escalate and we’re going to continue getting fudged, those on the market, those starting at a program, those applying and reapplying. Everyone around academia, we’re all fudged.
