(Computer Science ), Columbia University (Fu Foundation School Of Engineering) To the poster below asking if I had received an email saying my PhD application got transferred to MS, my PhD rejection email said so "However, your application is now being considered for the M.S. program in Computer Science". Btw, despite being rejected to the PhD, the application portal did no change (and still hasn't) as it still reads "Decision: pending".

(Computer Science, Columbia University (Fu Foundation) Undergraduate in a famous foreign school. Grades were very low at first due to language barrier but managed to improve semester after semester. Finished 1 and currently doing 3 research projects.

(Computer Science ), The University of British Columbia Did anyone get a Ph.D. offer from Computer Science department recently? A lot of MS accept/reject but only one accept according to this forum. What's the point of holding so many applications for 5 FUCKING months? Totally disappointed with their approach!!!!!

Computer Science, Columbia College TOEFL score is an aggregate of reading, writing, and listening in addition to speaking, and doesn't tell the university that much about how strong your accent is, how well you speak the language, etc. Besides, people cheat--it's not redundant at all. Columbia has had big issues in the past with admitted graduate students showing up with very poor English abilities. Bottom line is, if your interview is not with a professor and is just a one-way video recording request, it's not a real interview
