Graduate School Admission Results

It finally comes. It is a relief for me because I don't need to come to this website every day to check the result. "It is with regret that we write to inform you that you have not been accepted for graduate study at the University of California, Berkeley. The materials you submitted with your application have been carefully reviewed by the admissions committee, but we are unable to offer you admission. The UC Berkeley campus has a strict enrollment ceiling, and we are thus very limited in the number of new students we may admit each year. The admissions committee has the difficult task of selecting students with the strongest overall records from a large pool of well-qualified applicants. Unfortunately, this may result in not being able to accept many applicants who are capable of excellent academic work. We appreciate the interest you have shown in UC Berkeley and wish you success in achieving your academic goals."

I contacted the department and they told me that they are not accepting any more applicants. Official letter will come to portal soon.

TTPB: I think they don't inform about the waitlist. The applicants who still haven't received a decision might be automatically on the waitlist. If the previous posts are true, there might be some applicants already get rejected?

had meeting with faculty during application season and was encouraged to apply. The field subject was good match, but the dynamic/energy during the interview was not a good match. No email responses from the PI ever since. Inquired the PhD coordinator and informally told about the rejection.

Accepted to MEng program. Offered $15k fellowship. Domestic student, undergrad at top 15 university in MSE.

Received email about being recommended for admission from MSE department. Also come with Fung fellowship，15000USD
