Physics, General General question: does a low GPA imply a lower chance of acceptance into schools? As far as I can see, the only admits are those with GPAs in the ballpark of 3.8 and above. Should I even bother if my GPA is lower?

Physics And Astronomy, University of Rochester I have Bachelors of Physics and applied for PhD program. I have some experience in Research and 1 paper but no REU. While I was rejected for Physics, they recommend my application be considered for Mechanical Engineering PhD program. Not sure if I'll do it yet.

Physics, University of Maryland Global Campus Indicates research in CME/AMO. No contact with PI and no interview. 20 months of research experience, no publication. Notified via email by the program director.

Physics, University Of California, Los Angeles Ignore waitlist. Has anybody heard from UCLA whether about acceptance/rejection/interview? Any idea when they are going to roll out offers? Any information would be extremely helpful to me at this point, thank you very much!!!
