To the poster below: When did you receive the reject email?

Pretty excited, though I haven't heard much about the program. Does anyone here know anything about it? Seems like a fairly new one for CMU.

Anyone got waiting list of {MSR MSCV MRSD} at CMU RI? There were waiting list but I did not find this year.

MSCS, expected

To the poster below, regarding why I stated my preference of choices: I simply responded to another post, which said and I quote "Everybody admitted to the MRSD program, was MRSD your first choice?". I was just trying to be helpful and responsive. I have no idea why this makes me look "arrogant".

I was revoked my acceptance. And it's confirm. I have emailed to asked them both acceptance and revocation emails. Here's the replied email. "Dear (my name), Both did, in fact, come from the CS Department. Unfortunately, the second email is correct. You were not admitted to the program. The first email was in error. We are very sorry for our mistake. Take good care, - (his name)"

To the CMU posters asking about the rejection notifications: The decisions have been made independently by each program; I applied for both LTI and MLD's graduate programs and heard back from them separately on different dates (Feb 1 and Feb 3). So you still have the possibility of being accepted to another program such as MSCS.

To the poster deciding between CMU and ETH: CMU MCDS is a professional course and is in no way research/thesis based. So, your choice should depend on your immediate goal. If you want to pursue a PhD, ETH is hands down your choice. If you want to finish your masters quickly and start earning go with CMU. Its not that you cannot earn a hefty amount from the ETH degree. Your pay would be as good as that in case of CMU. So, in conclusion, ETH is in general a better choice no matter what you want to do further. Go for CMU if you want to quickly finish your masters and have enough money to pay for it. Hope it helps you choose.
