Graduate School Admission Results

I thought it would give some direct phd applicant a master offer but it did not.

Knew a rejection was coming since I did not get any interviews. I emailed the person to ask about MS consideration and they said that MS decisions will be out in the next few weeks BUT you'll only be notified if you get in. Whoever is reading this, I hope you give yourself credit for applying in the first place and overcoming Imposter Syndrome. This year seems to be a very competitive cycle everywhere with more students applying and less funding available due to Covid, so keep that in mind!

International student. Top 3 IIT in India. 9/10 GPA, 1 publication. 1.5 years in MBB, 1.5 years in PM.

For those who got admitted to ME PhD program, have you received any emails regarding the virtual visit day? Could you share when the visit day is? Thanks!

Had nearly perfect GPA, good GRE scores... but no work experience. Exceptional LORs and 1 published paper. Around 5 internships in undergrad. Maybe not good enough! Good luck to those who got in! :)

I'm wait listed but I won't attend. The thing is that with covid-19, most of the MS&E courses I'm interested in will be offered online and I will miss the person to person interaction that made me apply to this program in the first place. Better take the same six MS&E courses through the SCPD for 30K tuition and keep working on my startup idea rather than going after the full online MS&E Master degree requirements that will cost me 120K. So, I won't attend even if offered admission in the coming weeks.

Got rejection email around noon PT. 7 YOE in front office finance - math/cs undergrad degree from Ivy, took 1 SCPD course & applied for HCP. Congrats to those who got in!

Expected! Low GRE, everything else was close to perfect. Congratulations to all those admitted, and for future applicants, you can't compensate one thing with something else. Do your best in every aspect of your application. Good luck!

I had not received a decision yet so I reached out to the department. They responded saying there was a glitch in the system and would get my decision shortly. Then they sent me my rejection (dated March 1).

Rejected. Had probably average GRE scores relative to admits and grades were good. Took 4 Stanford classes with A's in all of them. Years of work experience in finance/VC, great extracurriculars, and recommendations from Stanford profs in the department. Guess that wasn't enough! Congrats to all the admits.
