CMT, interview on 17th Jan

CMX. First rejection after 6 offers. Anyway, anyone working on cmx got admitted?

ignore status. Anyone heard back from Stanford's applied physics program?

I got an email informing me to check the website and an email to access SIS. At this stage, I speculated it must be the acceptance letter, which was confirmed after I opened the portal. I did not have any interviews, nor have general GRE scores (which was compulsory), I emailed them while applying that I could not give the general GRE, but I do have a 960 score in the physics GRE. They waived the general GRE requirement with ease (They also sent me the email of the application fee waiver by accident :P). Now I got the email of acceptance (with 5 years of funding). I will contact the faculty and discuss the research work there to make my decision to accept or reject them.

Computational Quantum Optics/Quantum Chemistry - 7 months of computational research experience in a different field (nuclear engineering) - 16 months of industry internship in a different field (analog IC design) - undergrad in Engineering Physics - reached out to two potential supervisors in December, both meetings went very well

Quantum Molecular Dynamics - 7 months of computational research experience in a different field (nuclear engineering - 4 months working with molecular dynamics) - 16 months of industry internship in a different field (analog IC design) - undergrad in Engineering Physics - reached out to supervisor in the summer, meeting went really well, he helped me write my research proposal for scholarship applications in December

QIS - 7 months of computational research experience in a different field (nuclear engineering) - 16 months of industry internship in a different field (analog IC design - undergrad in Engineering Physics - reached out to three potential supervisors in December (kinda late I guess lol) but no response from any of them

Interviewer informed me that they were "anticipating my acceptance". I have not yet received a formal offer.

They said they want a "very informal meeting" between me and the professors in the Physics and Astronomy. Not sure what they mean. Did anyone else receive that?

CMT, 1 Paper, 1 REU. Very expected. Rejection letter said there were only 40 slots for 1700 applicants, which made the rejection sting much less. Kudos to whoever thought to put that in!

Asked the coordinator about the progress of application. He informed me that my application did not make it. I will get the official rejection email by the end of this month. He wrote a very personal nice email. Although feel bad about the rejection but it doesn't hurt because of the manner he wrote.
