Graduate School Admission Results

Prof from UW came for a talk and mailed in that I'd been accepted (along with 2 others at my uni) and we had a chat with him. Apparently results were finalized today; official results coming soon!

As overall feedback, the most competitive applicants demonstrated clear mathematical proficiency and programming experience, professional resumes and personal statements that demonstrated clear readiness for a demanding academic program, a solid academic track record evidenced by transcripts and recommendation letters, and high GRE and TOEFL scores (for international applicants).

Emailed to say that my application had been sent to the committee and decisions would be made by late February.

Funny -- I've never won a Turing award and the only kind of networking I'm interested in is computer networking... but I can spell, so at least I have that going for me. 163 Quant / 168 Verbal / 6 AW. 2 research internships, 1 publication. Interview with POI late Jan.

1st rejection, no publication, no reason why my application is denied

5 papers , 1 in review, 1 year of research experience. Double major master.

Checked the portal and didn't receive an email 1a/2r/0w/7p

Disappointed with the result. 2 publications in review when I applied (one got accepted and one rejected). Good references and I have Master's Degree in CS from a Canadian university. Okay GPA and GRE scores.

To the Legal Studies guy, I haven't received any scholarship so that is why I am not sure of joining. Also not sure how good the CS dept is at WUSTL. What about you?
