Graduate School Admission Results

Very excited!

TTBP: Long answer made short: NO. Easy to understand, but hard to accept.

Given the fact that a whole lot of admits were sent out yesterday, can everyone else who is waiting for a decision from Stanford expect a reject, or is there any hope?

TTPB. I am surprised that Yale is harder to get into than Stanford. I got accepted by Yale, and still waiting for my decision (rejection) from Stanford. Guess I am going to Yale regardless.

TTPB: I apply for the master's program directly.

Cal Tech EE undergrad. Was rejected from most other programs (Berkeley MS CS, Cornell MS CS, Yale MS CS, CMU (CS, CDS, ML), UChicago MPS (lol), etc.) so this is a nice surprise. This and USC are my only acceptances and I'll definitely be going with Stanford. Best of luck to everyone

TTPB: NOT Waitlist. To the one who got Stanford Masters, can you tell if you applied for PhD? were rejected and then offered MS admission instead? Do they not notify via email? Because in my portal the same PhD reject letter is there...no update yet regarding MS admission

Any chance of getting an offer after being waitlisted?

Stanford results really are out, people aren't spamming. I got a very weird looking email with the subject "Congratulations" from the CS department. First line was, "Your Stanford ID number is ...". The email had a lot of spacing between paragraphs, they really made me scroll. It was very odd haha, but I am really happy I got in.

HCP applicant. 2 years out of undergrad, and have been working at FAANG since graduating. Math/CS double major & 3.8 GPA at mid-tier UC. 1 yr research experience in math, 1/2 year research in CS department, though neither led to publications. 2 software internships during undergrad. Took one SCPD course last year & got an A. Got very strong LORs from research advisor (Math prof from undergrad) & manager at work, and (presumably) alright LOR from SCPD professor. Really didn't expect to get in, but I am really stoked. :-)

Any Phd applicant who got admitted to the masters program at Stanford.

How many students does Stanford accept every year? Just wondering about how competitive this program is.

EE undergrad from top IIT. Focus: AI/Theory. Stoked and will probably go.
