Interview request from POI

Got a call from POI, official acceptance via email on the 14th. Visit weekends March 4-5, 11-12 and 18-19.

Email from POI mentioned in SoP (but he is not from the committee) to discuss application, haven't heard anything from the committee. Does anyone know if we must have a committee interview to be admitted?

Got an email last week from PI for 40min interview. Turned out more than an hour. More casual than I thought. Finger crossed🤞

It is with regret that we write to inform you that you have not been accepted for graduate study at the University of California, Berkeley. The materials you submitted with your application have been carefully reviewed by the admissions committee, but we are unable to offer you admission. The UC Berkeley campus has a strict enrollment ceiling, and we are thus very limited in the number of new students we may admit each year.
