Ignore rejection. Just curious what's going on at UCSB? Did they decide to send acceptances by subfield this year, or had they sent all acceptances?

Had TWO productive interviews/conversations with potential PIs in December and early January; clear intersections with faculty interests, relevant experience in research, pub;ications and teaching, masters from the UK in my area of specialisation. Goes on to show that grad admissions are really a crapshoot!
