rejected by the MSME (ENME) program, recommend to consider the MEng (PMME) program

Still no response regarding this program. Application status remains unchanged (PROGRAM REVIEW). I have contacted my POI, the Program Director, and the Graduate School Director with no response. I have already resigned to the certainty of rejection at this point, but the lack of communication is frankly infuriating. Does anyone else have news from this program? I attended the Recruitment Event in February and walked away with positive feedback from all that I spoke with.

TTPB: I too didn't receive the email with those two IDs after I submitted my application.

TTPB: I did not receive any mail for UID. I just received AY id. On the portal too only AY id is given.

Check your mail. Right after you apply, UMD sends a mail with both the IDs. The mail is titled, "Here is your UMD Applicant UID/Applcation ID".

TTPB: Does anyone know to get the University of Maryland UID as I would like to apply to one of the programs mentioned in the reject email by Tom Hurst? I was able to find the apply yourself id but not the UID. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Accepted without funding. Is there anyone here who is accepted with funding but will decline the offer ? If so, can you please decline ASAP so that I can try to have funding.

I've not been told to send you an offer of admission, so in all likelihood we did not select you. I plan to send formal rejection notifications later this month.

Did everyone receive mail from Tom Thurst to refer to another program. Even the earlier rejects?

Got rejected via email from Tom Hurst. Got another mail asking for a referral to UMD Science Academy consisting of two programs Data Science and Analytics and machine learning. Does anybody have any idea regarding the quality of the two programs? These two are professional courses, unlike the computer science program.

Undergrad from new IIT. Have admits from UIUC, Austin, ETH, EPFL, USC. Rejected by Gatech, Maryland, CMU, UCLA. Didn't hear back from UCSD and UCSB. What an absolute shitshow gradadmissions are. 9.36/10. GRE 331. 1 A* paper (2nd author) published and 1 under review. 3 strong LORs (All research based).

2 strong LoRs, 1 research paper, teir 3 Indian university, 2 years work exp. in a good startup as a Data Scientist. Got a mail from Tom Hurst for rejection and got referred to MPS in Data science an Analytics or MPS in Machine Learning. Does anyone have any idea about those programs?

This is to inform you that you have not been recommended for admission to the Computer Science Master of Science program. We receive a large number of applications each year from qualified applicants, but we can only admit a certain number. We allow a few programs to review our applicants who were not accepted to our Master of Science. Normally students cannot change their application to be considered for other programs, but this is one exception. Two programs you might consider are the MPS in Data Science and Analytics and the MPS in Machine Learning. These two programs are administered by the Science Academy and are professional programs. If you would like to be considered for admission by the Data Science and Analytics or the Machine Learning program, please send an email to scienceacademy@umd.edu stating that you would like to transfer your application and clearly list which program in which you would like to be considered for admission. Please make sure that you include your University of Maryland UID and Apply Yourself (AY) Applicant ID in the correspondence. No fee will be assessed to transfer your application.

Ttpb: I got a similar mail too. From Tom. I hadn't mailed previously. Did he say they will be transferring your application to be considered for the MPS programs if you wish? Or are you already given an admit to the program?
