I got waitlist. Is there a possibility of this changing ?

Waitlisted for MSML. Received the rejection today: "I regret to inform you that we are unable to admit you to the Master of Science in Machine Learning program at Carnegie Mellon University. As indicated in my previous emails, your application was very strong and we reached this decision due to our program being capped at just 35 students out of an applicant pool of over 1200. Our yield this year was higher than usual and so we were unfortunately not able to admit anyone from our waitlist. Thank you again for your patience, understanding, and assistance during the long admissions process, and once again, we are sorry you were not included in the admitted students. We wish you the best in your future endeavors."

Finally dirty cmu release rejection for MCDS. At least I got into Stanford MSCS. Good riddance dirty CMU for delaying application result

Got admitted to the MCDS program. CGPA: 9.3/10, Tier 3 college in India, 3 years work ex as SWE, 1 paper published, 4 patents under review

MCDS @ LTI (profile: SWE @ FAANG; Tier-2 CS grad; GPA: 9.45 (BS), 9.72 (MS); 0 papers, some research)

Excited, 1st admit after 6 rejections. 2 pubs, 2 relevant internships, strong SOP (according to editors), and 3 strong LORs (according to writers). Felt like a bit of a mountain coming from a non-CS undergrad, but I apparently did enough to overcome that.

Got into MCDS at CMU LTI. Shocked by the acceptance, pretty surreal :)

2 years of work exp at a big investment bank, some undergrad research exp but no publications.

To the OP above on MCDS: CMU admission is just playing it dirty. Probably release by end of this week 25th March. If not, don't bother admitting.

IR2 from mid tier IIT. 2 research internships (universities), one of them international. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission. Best bachelors Thesis, ACM ICPC Regionals, SIH win. 1.5y work exp ~FAANG. CMU MSCS is extremely competitive, and they don't necessarily look for research so don't make yourself sound like a PhD candidate. Apply to MSML or MCDS which are easier to get in, or MSE if you have a weaker profile but definitely want to get in.

[IGNORE THE WAITLIST] Guys, does anybody have info on CMU-MCDS? I'm thinking I should expect a reject now but haven't seen that many acceptances or any rejects on here? I was under the impression that CMU releases its accepts and rejects together so I'm very confused.

Got MSE-SS Program Acceptance ; BTech CSE from large private engineering college in Tamil Nadu - 9.34/10 CGPA 326/340 GRE ; 117/120 TOEFL ; 1 yr 2 months work experience at time of application ; Have two published research works Strong LoRs, one from corporate, two from academic Applied December 1st week

MSE-SS program (Master of Software Engineering - Scalable Systems). Received an email with the admit letter. GRE: 329, Work Exp: 1.5 years Applied November end.

Got into their MSE SS program. Non-CS degree from old IIT. 8.2 cgpa. 1.5 work experience in startup. Strong LORs (2 profs, 1 Co-founder/CTO of startup).
