Graduate School Admission Results

No prior interview.

ASU undergrad with 3.71 GPA, 2 NASA internships, a few other internships, 2 papers, 1 first author, another in progress. My letter writers are somewhat connected with MIT and likely wrote decent recs. Obviously it's MIT so very competitive.. Luckily I have a good offer at ASU! "We are very sorry to inform you that we are unable to admit you into our PhD program for 2021. As you may have anticipated, we receive hundreds of excellent applications such as yours, but yet we are only able to admit a limited number. We know this decision is a disappointment. However, we are confident that you have other wonderful options for your graduate education. We wish you much continued success in all of your academic and professional endeavors. Most importantly, we wish you good health and hope that you remain safe from the Corona-19 virus."

TTPB - Still waiting! I am probably checking every 30 minutes if it makes you feel any better. But I am thinking it will be a mass rejection for us since two-three people already got accepted today and it doesn't make sense to send acceptances one by one. I just want the wait to end, I already know what it is!

Generic email. "We know this decision is a disappointment. However, we are confident that you have other wonderful options for your graduate education.", Many qualified applicants, etc etc

4.24/4.30 GPA, 3 co-authored papers, 2 years research experience, supposedly wonderful LoRs. It's MIT though, can't say I'm surprised. Sucks to think about the possibility for 4 months just to get a 1 paragrah email though!

I sent emails to some of the faculty members whose research I was interested in yesterday to know about the status of my application. And then today I received the rejection letter from EECS Chair. I don't understand why they didn't send the rejection email earlier. Sad life :(

Any news my fellow update pending people??? I'm checking my spire portal every hour but no changes yet xD

Princeton undergrad. Decent grades and GRE but no publication. REALLY disappointed! Already got into UC Berkeley anyway ...

Mine turned Update pending today, but no congratulatory message on spire home portal. Looks like a rejection. Brace yourself boys and girls :'(

I am one of the people for whom the update pending thing came up yesterday. I have no luck till now, what about you people? Congrats to the 2 of u who got in!!

Declined. Wait so long, it was just cheap AD (no funding). Not real offer (with funding). Oxford is my fourth choice. I will go UCLA.

A question for the friend who change from PhD in CS to Master in CS. Is it fully funded Master?

Just received the admit. Checked in the morning and the status was "Application Under Review". Never changed to update pending. Submitted GRE 327 (Q-170). No publications. B.Tech in EE from mid tier IIT (8.7 gpa).

I'm the person whose status changed to "Update Pending" this morning (and was expecting Mass rejects). Just checked my Spire home page and saw a congratulatory message with options to confirm acceptance. Good GPA, GRE and publications from Tier-2 college. Good luck to all others waiting on their decisions!
