Physics, University Of Florida My first offer! My research is in gravitational waves and relativistic astrophysics ~ 2.5 yrs research experience—some talks and presentations. No pubs yet. PS: Please limit the use of this site. It has been eating my brain and soul for the last few weeks. It is still early in the application season for physics. Physics, Harvard University I got an email of acceptance for CMT!! So excited I didn't see this coming. I have about 8 publications but only 3 in physics. I also have 3 strong recos. This was my top choice and my first acceptance.

Physics, University Of California, San Diego Unofficial acceptance. Had minimal contact with PI who replied with brief email encouraging me to apply. Big state school- excellent physics program. 2 semesters unrelated research (env. Engineering), 1 summer + 2 semesters geophysics research. 1 summer hep ex research. Current interdisciplinary senior thesis in nuclear astro/planetary science. 1 pub in prep. Physics TA for 2 semesters. Dept. and school scholarships. Applied for nuclear astro/neutrinos.

Medical Physics, University Of Chicago Completely did not expect to land an interview… Really nervous about it, especially with the interview format the email described. The email was personalized and the interviews are in the middle of February. Did not submit GRE, no papers yet but one on the way, and did research at UC in medical physics.

Medical Physics, Vanderbilt University Very excited! Email said the interview is February 4. I mentioned MA and GD in my statement of purpose. I've done academic medical physics research but never clinical, so we'll see how things go!

Chemical Physics, Columbia University B.S. in physics, 2 years of part-time research in an unrelated field. 1.5 full-time research in a related field. I submitted my horrible subject test by accident (it was really bad). Can't believe I got in honestly.

Applied Physics, TU Delft, Netherlands Applied on the deadline for most scholarships (1 December) and mail came in today. Physics undergrad from a top university in Turkey. Mediocre academic record. A bit long (1490 words) motivation letter. Strong letters of recommendation, I believe. Two (and a half) research experiences in different areas of physics, one of them is on its way to end with a paper. IELTS 8/9, no GRE. Many outreach activities, and TA experience. Very excited to be accepted for Quantum Devices and Quantum Computing track. Although I do not have much research experience in the respective field, I attended many workshops and got the chance to explore. Fingers crossed for scholarship opportunities, but it's a long shot. Good luck to anyone who applied!
