Graduate School Admission Results

Accepted off wait list, got an email from the Grad Director. I'll be accepting and am beyond excited! As a short note to anyone who had a disappointing admissions cycle I applied to 7 programs and got flat out rejected from 6, then wait listed. I know not everyone has the time or funds to do this for multiple years in a row (I wouldn't have) but please if this is your genuine aspiration don't give up, keep grinding.

had interview with PI. didn't seem like a good fit for either of us, so rejection makes sense. honestly department seems a bit toxic, glad I got a better offer

If you are not gonna accept a Waiting list offer, please decline/let the school know. Don't wait to decline, it will help waiting list applicants.

No interview, basically heard nothing til this. Overall, this cycle I ended with 6 acceptances & 4 rejections. I'm going to the University of Kansas for my PhD in the fall!

Generic rejection email. Northwestern was one of my last hopes for getting into grad school. My dreams are shattered and I'm crushed. Two high impact LORs, one publication, 2 years of research (theory and computation). Took grad classes in GR and particle, double majored in stats. What did I do wrong?
