Computer Science, Cornell University On behalf of the Graduate Faculty in Computer Science, I regret to inform you that we cannot offer you admission to the Ph.D. Program in Computer Science for this year. We had a record number of applicants this year. Since the number of students who can be accepted is limited and the overall quality of applicants is very high, it is not possible to accept many excellent students who are interested in coming to Cornell. Computer Science, Kansas State University TOEFL-93 The graduate studies committee of our department has considered your application for admission to the graduate school for the purpose of studying for a Computer Science graduate degree. Based on their evaluation, we find that we are unable to recommend admission. Unfortunately, your TOEFL scores did not meet the needs for our graduate program. In your application you asked to be considered for financial assistance, unfortunately, we do not have any funding available for you. Although many applicants have outstanding academic records, our admissions are competitively based and limited in number. Computer Science, University Of Toronto Received an admit for the MScAC program in AI concentration. Received the interview invite on 12th December, got interviewed on 20th December. Computer Engineering graduate from India, 9.75 pointer, 324 GRE, 4 internships, 1 published IEEE paper, MITACS Scholar, 1 year of work ex as a full time Data Engineer.

Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science Program (PULSe), Purdue University - West Lafayette Interviewed on 20th. Told that the result would be out by Jan 15th., but given Mon 15th is MLK we expected decisions to be made today (12th). The program director said she only send out waitlist and acceptance decisions (i.e., rejections will be sent when they update student status in the app system) and got me really worried when I got nothing until 7pm local time. Offer was received at around 9pm. After info exchange with fellow applicants we realized that they interviewed way more students than they should (150-270 students; taking only 50ish and expect 25ish to matriculate), so don't get your hopes high even if you got an interview. The staves are really friendly though. — About me: International, Bachlor's degree completed 4 yes ago at a top public university. 2yrs of lab technician work (lab monkey, no autonomy whatsoever, no knowledge on the bigger picture) at school, followed by a research role at a small Pharma for 3 years (no wet lab component; literature review/experiment design/project proposal and assessment). Went back to home country after OPT exhausted, and got a remote research role with a PI at Harvard (machine learning/computer vision). Education background is biological science with no formal CS education, intend to pursue a PhD in bioinformatics/computational biology.
