Physics, Some Universities [Ignore Waitlist] After sending a couple of inquiry emails to some schools that have not responded to me, got some updates and I suddenly realized my graduate applications for Fall 2024 come towards the end. This is my second application year, I applied to 15 schools last year and got all rejected, one school even rejected me twice(after an initial rejection, they said they wanted to reconsider my application, arranged a short interview, and rejected me again after two weeks). I can still remember the all-rejected day (April 24, 2023). Once I decided to try another year, I did everything I possibly could to improve my application package, including strengthening my research experience, getting good LOR writers, etc. Fortunately, this effort paid off, I got 3 offers this year (going to decline two of them shortly) and I don't give a damn about those rejections. I spent two freaking years on this website checking updates, multiple times, every single day during the application period and I am sure this will be my last time on this website. The point I want to make here is it doesn't matter how "screwed" you think you are right now, You have all the things you need to clear this up, reset yourself and try it again. Mental Health Counseling, Hunter College randomly checked my portal this morning and saw my decision had posted, the email to check portal arrived about 5hrs later. beyond thrilled that my final pending decision was an acceptance!! 2a/1w/2r

Computational Linguistics, University Of Washington 3.17 Overall 3.3 Major Undergrad Linguistics major with 4 classes in compling and cs, had received 3 interviews for compling entry level jobs before applying, one internship, none gave me an offer either. I guess not enough programming background and never took statistics, maybe GPA too, had 1 stupid F, 1 stupid D, and 1 stupid C on transcript that should have all been As which would bump me up to around 3.7/3.8 major and 3.6/3.7 overall. no research no publications, 2 letters of recommendation from ling professors, but non cs or compling who were horrible at my school unluckily. was a shot in the dark, not applying here again
