Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University International Applicants – have patience, don't lose hope. Most of the posts below are either US citizens or have their UG degrees of an American university. Speaking strictly in terms of logistics, it's easier for universities to take these students as PhD candidates than it is for them to take international students. So hang in there. I know the nights are sleepless and life is not as much fun, but you will do great.

Materials Science And Engineering, Carnegie Mellon University Accepted without interview. International (not US), 4-year research experience including 1-year undergraduate researcher. Low English skills, but strong LOR, high GPA, five 1-author pub., one international conference presentation, several domestic patents. Good luck for everyone!

Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University If you change the uint id at the end, you can actually see other departments (1 is for CS, 2 is for ML, 3 is RI, 6 is LTI). I am admitted to MSML (6th choice, would really hope for a RI, either master's or PhD). I can login to the pages, and what's funny is it allow me to login to all of them, and click accept...... I was excited for a bit thought I am admitted to RI, but I can also login to LTI which I did not apply to so rip. Intend to email to ask this, but do you guys know if CMU would still consider your for other programs if they admit you to one of them? I have seen people who are admitted to multiple master's program, but not sure if it is still the case. Fingers crossed!
