Government, Cornell University Generic rejection email from DGS. This was my best fit of all the schools I applied to so this really sucked. Probs my first and last time applying to PhD programs and it doesn't seem like it'll work out this year. At this point, just waiting for the cycle to end

Civil And Environmental Engineering, Stanford University Environmental engineering. I figured I was going to be rejected when I never received an interview. Ivy+ chem eng undergrad, 2 published papers (1 co-first author), 2 patents, 2+ years full-time work experience in the field. Congrats to those admitted!

AeroAstro, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology If you look at previous year post warning that qualification does not matter any more it is true. Getting more journals at top venue will not help you. I have plenty of papers and feel like I am applying for postdoc but those papers are not what they are looking for. Focus on getting connections and matching to MIT prof research (not advisable) if you really want to get into MIT. Or better still, focus on doing good work and let your papers speak for yourself. Clinical Psychology, University Of Colorado, Boulder Got a call from my PI on the way to work!! Offered funding and a diversity fellowship!! This is my third application cycle and I'm over the moon!!!!!!!! To all those in similar boats, never stop persisting!!!
