Sociology Graduate School Admission Results

Was sort of expecting this since I applied on a longshot, hoping I can get some feedback and going to take the GRE. Minimal research experience and no GRE def didn't help my low GPA.

Not a surprise. Not a good fit tbh. I will wait for Johns Hopkins, which is my best fit. Congrats to those who got in!

ASU is a perfect research match but unfortunately the funding offer is pretty low.

Selected as "finalist for possible admission." Admission depends on attending a two-day interview. Rice will pay for the flight and stay.

UK undergrad and postgrad. Talked with prospective supervisor in December who was really interested. Interview was scheduled with the one supervisor I talked with and another potential second supervisor.

I thought that I wouldn't get admission because they rarely accept PhD students of my nationality. No degrees from USA.

So excited! Graduated from a top public university in 2023. Not much work experience but strong grades and research experience within undergrad.

I got a nice email letting me know that I'm on the short waitlist and that they are aiming for a cohort of 8. I won't be attending if I got in, because UC Irvine is a way better fit. Also, I did my undergrad at Stanford and I feel like that's frowned upon. 3a/2w/3 interviews waiting to hear back/7 pending.

Finally heard back via a kind email from the co-chairs of the admissions committee. The fit wasn't the best, so overall this is great news for my other applications! I will accept my place on the waitlist to see how the rest of this cycle shakes out. 1a/1w/0r/5p
