Graduate School Admission Results

Took a bit to hear back but the program coordinator was open, patient, and answered all my questions.

I got an email from the admissions committe, though I found it to be very impersonable. Dear MFA Creative Writing Applicant, I am writing to let you know that we have not been able to recommend you for admission to the Masters of Fine Arts program in Creative Writing at Syracuse University. This is a complicated judgment which depends a great deal on the abilities and opinions of those instructors here who must be able to feel that they could clearly serve the development of your writing. Their consensus not to recommend admission to the program should in no way be interpreted as a discouragement of your writing. I know this news disappoints you, and I want to express my sincere best wishes for success in your alternate plans for graduate study. Thank you for your interest in Syracuse. Sincerely, The Creative Writing Committee Please note: If you do wish to reapply in the future, please do NOT start another online application. Please reach out to [redacted] so that she may instructed you on the process and then we can simply reactivate your graduate application. We will allow you to reapply only once/one more time.

I checked the portal and later saw an email in my junk folder. Two rejections in one day, four total this week. Not going to lie, I really wanted to get into this one, so I'm bummed. 2a/6r/7p.

Michener Center. Also didn't get an email notification — I saw the previous person mentioning they checked the portal, so I checked it as well and there was the rejection.
