Speech Language Pathology Graduate School Admission Results

Got an e-mail today that I was waitlisted, sad because this is my alma mater. Please contact them and turn down your spot if you're not planning on going here! They did say that their waitlist was not ranked and we won't even find out if there's a spot for us until 4/15

With an assistantship position

I did not have any volunteer experience and I did not take the GRE. Initial application date was 1/15, I submitted that day and saw the following day the submission date was extended to 2/15. I received my acceptance email on 2/24. Cumulative GPA: 3.8. CASD GPA: 3.7. Worked in the educational/child care field for the past 5 yrs while double majoring in a child related field. Essay was relatively strong, LOR's I would say were fairly strong. 1 Supervisor, 2 CASD Professors. 1 who could only speak to my attendance, test grades and participation while the other interviewed me prior to writing my LOR so she could provide me with a strong 1. Super excited, super nervous !!! Wishing everyone the best of luck and please do not give up !!! CSDCAS calculating my entire undergrad report, I thought it was over for me, but there is hope !!! I got an acceptance email on Monday morning. I'm not sure yet if I will be accepting or not.

Current Student. Do not recommend this school to anyone. Worst professors I have ever had (except for 1 great one). One professor lectures for 4 hours, posts a 2 hour recording, and gives hours worth of homework to be completed all while taking other courses and in practicum. No in person clinical during the summer (like promised), not guaranteed a medical placement, very unprofessional professors that do not treat you well. Beware.

SLPA for a year in the same district - high school/elementary school, over 10 years of childcare experience, volunteering with adults with aphasia, volunteering at a hospital, work in a dental and hospital clinic (receptionist type work). I thought I had a strong application - strong essays and letters as well as experience so I'm very disappointed and don't know where I went wrong to not even make the waitlist.

I held many executive positions in different organizations throughout my undergrad, did research in the field, volunteered for many hours, and had a job in the field. I got placed in the first tier of the waitlist. Congrats to everyone! I'm excited to hear back!
