Political Science, Stanford University GPA: low. GRE: meh. Comparatively, lots of research & decent teaching experience in policy/law. I was stupid to try. Stories of folks with bad metrics getting in b/c 'fit,' a non-traditional background or experience gave me false hope. I'm an idiot for falling for it.

Political Science, Johns Hopkins University JHU didn't even have the class to send out an email notification. I checked my online account after reading below comments. "2/17/2017 Unfortunately your application into Ph.D. in Political Science has been denied. Political Science Department "

Political Science, Penn State University The email read: "... I am pleased to inform you that you have been placed on a very short wait-list for admission to the Political Science graduate program at Penn State University." Another email followed asking me of my external funding.
