Emailed to notify me that I was in the "hold" pool. One of my top choices. Hope that there will be some good news.

Didn't even get an email to check portal. Had to manually check to see rejection.

Emailed to notify the rejection, saying that it was an extremely competitive year. Weird that they did not reject in the first round.

It was an extremely competitive year. I'm sorry we don't have better news. Sadly, each year, the number of applications we receive far exceeds the number of students we can accept, and so each year we must make very difficult admissions decisions. We wish you the very best in your future academic endeavors.

Just checked the portal, and saw the decision update. Radio silence otherwise. Shortest announcement ever: "Your application has been reviewed, and the committee has denied admission." Nothing else. I have other offers, but this is literally the rudest thing a department can do.

I emailed them to check about their timeline of publishing decisions, and they replied with decision for me (rejection), saying they choose 5-7 applicants from a pool of 200. Not very surprised.

Email to check portal. Emailed them about my decision, updates came the next day. Short rejection letter. Not great fit and really tiny program so kinda expected.

Kind of unexpected. I thought I would be waiting for a rejection. Emailed about being in the "hold" group. No change on the portal. My only hope so far. 0a/8r/1w/17p

To the poster below: I sent an inquiry to the graduate coordinator yesterday. She got back to me saying that they'll need next couple of weeks to a month to make all decisions, and asking for patience. I know it's exhausting to wait for this long. Not sure if any other programs would take longer than Pittsburgh.

Anyone got an offer letter or interview invitation?

Very excited to receive the offer. No interview.
