Philosophy Graduate School Admission Results

I agree with the mutiny happening here. If you have an offer just take it! Spoke with multiple grad coordinators who have said there's been almost no movement. You're all waiting for something “better”. In the end the deadline will come and waitlisted people with no offers will suffer. If you have an offer please accept it and do something kind for your fellow aspiring philosopher.

I am seconding the latest post. I wholeheartedly understand the difficulty of making choices but being in the position (Ort) of making choices is, dare I say, incommensurably privileged.

Alright people, make your decisions if you have an offer!! Let the dominos fall! No one is moving off any waitlists because no one is accepting an offer because they want to come off the waitlist, we're at a stalemate. If you have a good offer from a top program just f'ing accept it so we can all move on! Notice how philosophy has had no updates here or the fb page??? Someone has to just suck it up and go to their #2. Some people don't even have ONE acceptance and need waitlist movement, don't be a greedy A-hole.

Solicited. Email from Prof. Michael Nelson: "There wasn't room in our program this fall for us to make you an offer. I'm sorry that the graduate school has been slow to send out notifications; they just implemented new software."

chair's original words: The program is very competitive and, unfortunately, we must turn away many qualified applicants.  And please also keep in mind that, in the decision regarding to whom to extend offers, we must consider multiple factors, including the question of fit with our program.  I regret not having better news to convey, and I wish you well in your future endeavors.  Thank you for your interest in our program.

I have checked my rejection via website. Very tough situation, however still waiting another waitlist.

Accepted off a waitlist. Still waiting on official letter. 1a/1w/17r/3p

Solicited. "we sent out notifications several weeks ago, but it has come to our attention that we missed a few candidates." You were not in fact still under consideration ha ha! Our bad.

Ignore. people are getting rejections from Rutgers but there has been no update on my application status. Should I be expecting a rejection then or ? Is there a hidden waitlist?
