Graduate School Admission Results

Found the acceptance letter in the portal. No mentions of scholarship in the letter. Academic background in BA sociology (3.6) and MBA (3.7). No GRE. 7 years of experience in a start-up (data analyst, data ware house developer, front end developer). Got into SDE role with self-taught & bootcamp. Before applying, I was laid off and have been seeking to transition into UX design for a year and a half without employment. I submitted a design portfolio in the application to demonstrate things I've done during the gap year. Broke into tears after I got the offer..

Was surprised to get the result this quickly.

Information Science undergrad. No GRE. 2 marketing internships w/ small software company. 5 months of contract work @ Fintech company. Good SOP and essays. Strong LOR from internships and capstone advisor. Interested in UX/HCI specialization.

Applied 1/15 and received an email 2/26 to check the portal. Did not hear any update from the program until the decision email.

Got an email to check the portal. No mention of financial aid though so I’m kind of confused…

No GRE. Undergraduate CS major. A few completed manuscripts but no publications. 2 conference poster/demos.

Contacted a professor before applying, he was positive.

HCI, 2 CHI pubs, no interview, gas I was below the bar lol

3 first author papers (1 Journal and 2 Conferences, 1 recommendation from NASA Scientist, 1 from a reputed professor in the field, and one normal college prof)
