Recent Graduate Admission Results March 2009
Political Science, University Of North Carolina, Chapel Hill (UNC) Since I know there are several on the board like myself that are awaiting decisions on this I thought I'd share my findings. After speaking with their admissions director today I learned the following: They offered 6 spots (about a month ago). Naturally, those people have all been notified. They're still making decisions on the potential of offering others (if the funding is available or if one of the admitted students elects not to enroll) so it does not mean you're out of the running - but regardless of the decision, they generically quoted me that it would be "a few more weeks before I can expect to receive any notification." I hope this helps. I know it's frustrating. One other thing - they said that they notified the first group via Email

Political Science, University Of Washington, Seattle Funding situation: "For at least your first year, and possibly beyond, it is unlikely that you will receive financial support. If our funding improves and positions become available to us, we will take into account the level of performance that students have demonstrated in our program."

Political Science, Washington University in St. Louis (WashU/WUSTL) Accepted off the waitlist. University Fellowship for the first year ($19,110 over 9 mos.), RA/TAships the remaining years, probable summer funding (not sure for how many summers, or if guaranteed).

Political Science, New York University (NYU) Just got their email said that unable to offer me admission to Ph.D program, but offer me an opportunity to apply for master's program. what does that mean? does everyone receive this email just in the same way?

Political Science, Massachusetts Institute Of Technology (MIT) I emailed asking about status so that I could make plans on where to visit. Received this reply: "Acceptance letters were sent via FedEx at the beginning of last week. Denial letters were sent by regular mail at the end of last week and beginning of this week."
