Philosophy, University Of British Columbia (UBC) I received the same email repose to my inquiry as the poster below. "Thank you for your application and your inquiry. I can tell you that we have made some preliminary decisions, and unfortunately you are not currently on our shortlist for PhD admissions" Really? It would be better to get a simple "we will not be making you an offer" or "you did not make the cut" rather than the not-so-clear "you are not currently on our shortlist".
