As expected, because I have already seen classmates sharing the offers they received in the first round, and the results that were supposed to be announced by March 15th have been delayed, this situation is similar to what happened with UT (where I was later rejected). Throughout this journey, I realized that applying for Master of Arts programs in Canada is quite challenging for undergraduate students from mainland China. The main reasons are the limited quota for international students and the high standards for cultivating prospective doctoral students (similar to the MPhil programs in Hong Kong schools). Compared to the outright rejection from McGill's Thesis program, being placed on the waitlist by UT and UBC is itself an encouragement. Thank you, UBC, for being so supportive!

Notified of waitlist on 2/16/24, first time posting about it here. Really hoping some of us can get off the waitlist-- I know this is a dream program for a lot of folks (and is my only non-rejection).

My undergraduate degree wasn't related so I'm not too surprised, a little disappointed. I hope my other application goes well!

If you were accepted but do not plan to attend, please inform them as soon as possible. If you were also waitlisted and will be unlikely to attend, please notify them so that they can remove you from the waitlist. The most wanted programme in Canada has been rejected, and it may indeed be out of bounds with North America. Last October in the discovery of McGill's polisci thesis project, the feeling of reading the placement was very good, the training mode is also relatively like, on a whim significantly adjusted the paperwork, the results to today or were rejected. The thesis project should also be on my scientific research background as well as the experience of publishing in a very high demand, plus I do not know and this year's international student policy has no relationship. I don't know if it has anything to do with this year's international student policy, so I feel like I'm a little bit hit-and-miss. However, I am satisfied with the offers from BaZheng and LSE, which is actually a great recognition for the whole application!
