3 years of research, no pubs, 4.0 in current master's.

Got an offer after 40 days after the interview.

CMT. No GRE, no publications, 2 years research in CME. Not super surprising given my GPA and qualifications but still disappointed, they were my top choice.

Heartbreak. Generic Rejection I am writing to regretfully inform you that we will not be able to offer you a place in the University of Illinois Physics Graduate Program. We received a record number of applications this year, and because we have a limited number of openings in each research area, we must unfortunately turn away many highly qualified students. I regret that we cannot take more of the excellent students that were in our applicant pool this year. I hope you find a graduate physics program that fits your research interests and I wish you the best in your promising future career. It's over for me. Just 6 more to go. Astrophysics/Gravity theory. Did an interview with a professor I mentioned in SOP. He is really nice. My friend was admitted, and I am really happy to hear that. Good luck! This is my top choice and I want to join that group when I was yr 2 student but.….Although I haven't received any offers until now, I have no regrets. I started my academic journey from a very small school and I have tried my best these years. Really want to say thank you to all my supervisors for their kindness to give me opportunities to work with them. This year is really hard for Astro people, but I will never give up. See you next year.

cosmology/gr theory. really bummed about this because I did an interview with them and thought it went well, and they were my top choice.

CMT/ No GRE. This is the 5th straight rejection, it's not looking good for me.

First non-rejection result. Subfield: biological physics, soft matter. If someone who will not attend UA is willing to reject their admission, I will be really grateful. Thanks once again
