Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University International Applicants – have patience, don't lose hope. Most of the posts below are either US citizens or have their UG degrees of an American university. Speaking strictly in terms of logistics, it's easier for universities to take these students as PhD candidates than it is for them to take international students. So hang in there. I know the nights are sleepless and life is not as much fun, but you will do great.

Computer Science, University of Chicago To the postal of the one who is in the waitlist of UChicago, do you receive email from University of Chicago. I just email them on 1st, April, they tell me my application is still in the faculty review process.

Computer Science, University Of Min Checked the website on April/13 to find the status "final review". I knew it was bad because I know they did not contact any of my references. After that by 30 min status was changed to "Decision Mad". Couple of hours later the letter of denial was available on the website. The email was sent next day. "Dear ####### #####, The faculty in the Computer Science - Ph D program, have completed a review of your application for admission to graduate study at the University of Minnesota. We have carefully considered all of your application materials, and unfortunately your admission has not been approved. There were a great many excellent applications, and therefore the final decision was very difficult. If you have any questions concerning this decision, please contact directly the major program to which you applied for admission. I sincerely regret that we are unable to approve your admission, and hope that our decision will not discourage you from pursuing further academic education or professional development. Please accept our best wishes for success in your future endeavors. Anyway, will try somewhere else next year.

Computer Science, Amherst College So UMass doesn't provide TA/RA opportunities to students in the MS-only track? Is it possible to change to MS/PhD track after starting the term at UMass? What kind of research opportunities do MS-only students have exposure to? Any bias against MS-only students when it comes to internships?
