To those that asked about the Purdue post, I applied with ML professors. I just had the interview yesterday and received the acceptance this morning. I do not see too many admissions post, so I would think that it is rolling on case by case basis.

Unexpected. Top 30 undergrad, top 10 engineering school. One paper about to submit, one course paper, 4 lab experience, 2 profs with google scholar 10000+.

To the posters below: the number mentioned on the website includes both Master's and PhD students. ~40 Master's students seems a fair number. Source: I'm a current Master's student at Purdue.

UNC has a committee, but the decision is made by POI. Talked to my POI yesterday and got immediate offer today. Good luck to others.
