Computer Science Graduate School Admission Results

I applied to CGGT. From an intermedium university in China (Computer Science is among the top of China's univs nonetheless). One paper (second author) and one poster (first author) related to Computer Graphics.

BSc - 3.88, MSc - 4.0, IELTS - 7.5, 7+ Journals,

Can't believe I got in, so happy! This is to everyone who said I couldn't make it because I'm a female minority applicant. Sorry waitlisters, but this spot is taken!

To the OP above on MCDS: CMU admission is just playing it dirty. Probably release by end of this week 25th March. If not, don't bother admitting.

Took Stanford courses NDO, got a 4.2 GPA (only As and A+s), worked in a Stanford lab for a year, won project awards in my Stanford courses. A bunch of other stuff as well, but if I mention them it will be very easy to identify me. Good SOP, extremely strong LORs written by an impressive group that included Stanford professors. There are people out there saying that if you get a graduate certificate at Stanford you are basically guaranteed admission. This is NOT the case; I know of 3-4 people in similar shape to me that got rejected this cycle.

3.5 years of SDE experience, 2 patents, MTech from IITK.

Unofficial acceptance, the Prof who interviewed me around 3 weeks back mailed back Will prolly accept it, really enjoyed talking with them !

Expected considering 8.38 gpa and 162 quants :( 2 years volunteer exp at coding nonprofit, ~10 months internship exp and 10-month ft exp. Multiple hackathon wins including SIH

Indian student, Old IIT, GPA 9.7+ Exp: 2 research internships (Univs) + 1 industry internship, and some research done under UG Thesis Total 5 papers (but none of them is in a top A* venue and I'm the first author for only one of them). Graduated last year and am currently in an AI residency role at a FAANG company.

Top 5 IIT B.Tech. in CS. 1 publication and 1 under review. Had a top HFT internship and an university internship.

IR2 from mid tier IIT. 2 research internships (universities), one of them international. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission. Best bachelors Thesis, ACM ICPC Regionals, SIH win. 1.5y work exp ~FAANG. They send out a 1000+ admits, and not together so don't worry. Concerned about the funding and research because of the huge class size, probably would prefer UW Madison for better systems research match (OS) and funding. But UCSD weather is awesome!

IR2 from mid tier IIT. 2 research internships (universities), one of them international. 1 conference paper (A) and 2 journals under submission. Best bachelors Thesis, ACM ICPC Regionals, SIH win. 1.5y work exp ~FAANG. Good research match for Systems field. Didn't get guaranteed funding unfortunately, but seems easy enough because of the ~40 non-professional class size. Traditional MS is surprising hard to get into, but worth it for the funding.
