"Although we could not admit you to our program, we believe that you will have excellent offers from other schools" feels like a break-up phrase "you'll find someone better"

More than excited

Email from grad director with 12k funding packet and fast-track to PhD option (i.e. option to take PhD-level courses due to interest in eventually applying to PhD programs); option to pursue thesis-track if so desired; letter detailed solid PhD placements into top economics programs, including T10.

No GRE

Checked the website because I had a feeling more decisions would come out today. Found this: "Unfortunately you have been unsuccessful in your application for your first choice course. An email has been sent to you. The competition for places at LSE is intense and inevitably many well qualified applicants cannot be accepted. This decision is final, and no further comment can be made." I haven't received an email yet.
