Stop being critical, man! I also declined UMN since I believed it would help waitlisted applicants and the programs themselves. It doesn't cost you anything to just notify programs early if you're CERTAINLY not attending. That's it.

To the Poster Below: Yes, it shows the same phrase for me too! Hope I get the email which would clarify this. I guess funding info is released later on...? Not sure though. Thank you for your reply.

Does anyone know what the chances are to get admission from the waitlist (like in previous years)? Thanks!

I have seen some admits and rejects here, but did not hear anything from the yet. Does that mean IR?

"Unfortunately, we can neither make a conditional offer for our Ph.D. program nor for a scholarship to you. We have received a very large number of applications and other candidates have fulfilled our requirements at an even higher level. The final decisions will be made in the main admission round after March 31 and you will be notified on the outcome in May. " - No love for me. :(

I suspect the email went to everyone. Includes the line: "there is a significant chance we will not be able to admit you."

I wrote them last week. They answered that they will send offers the week starting the 23rd. They seem to give interviews... which I guess will take a few days too.

Math: Calc II, Linear Algebra, Statistics Assistantship Offered: Full Tuition Reimbursement/Partial Student Fees Reimbursement/$14,000 annual stipend.

Applied 24 Feb, with a program application deadline of 1 Mar. Physics and Math undergrad. Plan to accept.

Just declined my fully funded offer from UPenn. Good luck to waitlisted applicants.

I declined the MIT offer and accepted UChicago. Good news for wait-list people :)
